How MagNet Array works

The Problem

Sliding metal components generate abrasive wear particles in the normal course of operation. 

Diesel engines, gas engines, transmissions and gearboxes are all examples of applications where spin-on filter elements are used to filter the lubricating oil. 

Hydraulic Systems have high heat and high pressure fluids getting pumped and pushed into many tight clearance metal on metal or sealed surfaces. Damages by abrasive metal particles causes leaks and sometimes catastrophic failures.

In many of these applications the level of filtration or absolute rating can be quite high and thus not able to provide the best level of filtration against metals until a 360MAFC is used.

The Root Cause of Mechanical Failure in Engines and Hydraulic systems : the smallest of Metal Particles

Current Spin-On Filters are not capturing the most damaging contaminants, which is Iron Wear Debris small enough to flow though the Spin-On Filter Media. The Filter Media is typically 20-45 microns for Engine Oil and 10-20 microns for Hydraulic Systems. Therefor, unfiltered iron particles less than 10-45 microns continue to circulate in the oil.  These smallest of iron particles are small enough to fit between critical surfaces causing unnecessary wear in bearings and sleeves.

Common Spin-On Oil Filters are designed for required oil flow or porosity. The bottom line: cleaner oil is better; 360MAFC Magnet Array Filter Collar gets it done.

Magnetic Array Filtration

  • 360mafc is a fully reusable circular array of rare earth magnets secured to a proprietary collar that slides over any standard spin-on oil filter element. The 360mafc turns the standard spin-on element into a sub-micron filter element with respect to any magnetic particles in the oil flow.
  • The patented arrangement of the magnets optimizes the projected magnetic field through the wall of the spin-on element into the flow path of the oil throughout the full 360 degrees of the oil filter element. (very few applications need <360 degree collar.)
  • When it is time to change the spin-on element, the Magnetic Array is removed from the element and the captured particles are then discarded with the old element. we provide a hole in the 2″ tall collar for a lanyard cable to keep the 360mafc close to your engine
  • The 3/8″ thick x 2″ tall  Magnetic Array Filter Collar is then slipped back on the new spin-on element for continued engine protection.
